Xeriscape Learning Center and Design Garden ,
The Xeriscape Coalition consists of the Mayor's Task Force on Water Issues, Friends of the Museum, Beautify Corpus Christi Association, Nueces County Extension Service, City of Corpus Christi Water Division, Park and Recreation Department, and the Museum of Science and History. This coalition raised the funds and built a xeriscape demonstration garden adjacent to the Museum. The purpose of this garden is to demonstrate the application of the seven water wise landscaping principles in the design and creation of landscaping in South Texas. It has received the Beauty Spot award of the Beautify Corpus Christi Association and has been designated a Texas Grown Area by the Texas Department of Agriculture.
