It's very difficult to write about oneself, but the basics are- I'm 63 and have been a widow for 3 yrs.. I have two grown children; 1 near me, 1 living 1000 miles away. No grandkids (at least not human ones). I recently moved into a mobile home to "downsize" and economize - so far, so good. I love animals, nature, knitting and other crafts, reading, classical and 'oldies music. I'm still addicted to the Northeast (four seasons), but admit to visiting family in sun country during the winter. Looking for some chat buddies and new friends. :-)

I retired at 62 in December and while it is rough, as many of you know, I'm trying to make the best of it. Just finished watching one of my favorite TV shows, Antique Roadshow. Otherwise I watch boxing and flick from channel to channel. Bought my computer off a TV infomercial a couple of months ago so still a neophyte. I like cruising the internet and enjoy the animation. I came upon this address while looking for animated objects. First group I've encountered that seemed to be a like me. Other chat groups I've seen just appear to be all juveniles or writing gobbledygook. I have always been single and at this stage can't forsee ever changing that status. Actually, I would like to have pen pals that read a lot, so that we can discuss books. Scrabble is my favorite game though and when I figure out how to play a game on the internet, I would like to play. I live in Colorado. I work part time on reclaiming three old mountain quarries that have scarred our mountain view. So I am outdoors a lot and working hard and doing lots of p.r.. Have been doing this 5 yrs. and love it! Lots of community support for the project. We (my volunteers) have planted more than 5,000 pinyon pine and Rocky Mtn. juniper trees on the scars where top soil has been donated---150,000 cubic yds. of it! Hope to have a pen pal soon---man or woman. I love getting to know people. I am 66 yrs old and my kids say I am too active. But I really never think about my age. So far I am healthy and happy and have a lot more to learn about life. I was born and raised in Texas have lived in England for 8 yrs. with my ex-husband. Loved it there. Came here to AF Academy and stayed. Four grown children and 6 outstanding grandchildren (of course). Hope to hear from someone.
