Seniors - Welcome to Rockport, Texas!

Rockport/Fulton, a peninsula flanked by Aransas Bay & Copano Bay, is a waterfront community in the Coastal Bend region of South Texas. Rockport is famous for sport and commercial fishing, hunting, golfing, power yachting, sailing and windsurfing. Birding is an area favorite - don't miss the Endangered Whooping Crane Migratory Flyaway and the Hummingbird Festival each year.

Rockport Center for the Arts, Texas Maritime Museum and numerous organizations dedicated to preserving the area's rich historical heritage make Rockport culturally rich in the arts - more than 200 artists reside in the area.

Fulton Mansion - The 1870's French Second empire structure is the former home of Cattleman George W. Fulton. The house features several modern conveniences such as indoor plumbing, central lighting, and heating. Call 729-0386 for hours and fees.

Texas Maritime Museum - Experience the rich maritime heritage of Texas, from Spanish exploration to the search for offshore oil and gas. Located across from Rockport Harbor. Call 729-6644

Rockport Center for the Arts - Rooms filled with monthly changing exhibits. Members gallery room displays the many talents of local artists. Admission is free. Call 729-5519 for hours.

Connie Hagar Wildlife Refuge - Platform at the Rockport Beach Park on the bay - great bird watching.

Memorial Park - Located on FM 2165 near the Post Office, the Memorial Park has a fitness trail, playground equipment, tennis courts and picnic areas for a great day at the park.

Spirit Columns - Located at the Rockport Ski Basin, this work of art was created by world-class sculptor Jesus Bautista Moroles.

Big Tree - Visit a 2,000 year old tree measuring over 38 feet in circumference.

Zachary Taylor Tree - The historic landmark is the site of where Gen. Zachary Taylor and his troops camped during 1845.

Aransas National Wildlife Refuge - Take hwy 35 N to FM 774, turn right and follow signs.

Schoenstatt Shrine - In Lamar off Park Rd 13 lies a beautiful, authentic shrine of sister of the Schoenstatt.

Stella Maris Chapel - The first church built in Aransas County still stands.

Windswept Oak Trees - See these live oak trees that are permanently leaning due to the prevailing winds of the southeast.

Duck Crossing - Traveling down Fulton Beach Road, just before you get to the Harbor Bridge, you'll see a duck crossing.

Paws and Taws - On Fulton Harbor, square dancing and much more!

Rockport Country Club - Play a round of golf at RCC (Rated one of the top 50 courses in Texas by Dallas Morning News) - tennis and swimming also.

Canal Subdivisions - Drive to see areas such as Key Allegro, Harbor Oaks, City By The Sea, Palm Harbor, Holiday Beach, Bahia Bay, Copano Ridge and others.

Interpretive Nature Trail-Demonstration Garden and Wetlands Pond - Experience the sights and sounds of nature in a wetland environment in the midst of our town.

Bingo - During the winter months, the game of Bingo can be played at different places almost every night of the week and some year-round!

Rockport Beach Park - Visit our mile-long beach for swimming, sunning, or a family picnic. Jet ski rentals are also available during the summer months.
